I bought a boneless ham about 2 weeks ago and got at least 5 meals out of it. I made Scalloped Potatoes & Ham one night. Another night I made scrambled eggs & ham (for dinner). Then we made biscuits & ham (like mini sandwiches). And we made ham sandwiches. Lastly, we made Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder with ham.

I think I'll try the cookie cutter shapes next time. I'm sure my daughter would get a kick out of them.

I used fennel for the BEST dish yesterday!

Potatoes Au Gratin with Fennel and Bacon

Servings: 8

1 pound sliced bacon
5 tablespoons butter
5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 pinch ground nutmeg
2 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
1 large fennel bulb, trimmed and diced
2 tablespoon dried basil

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Fry bacon in a large skillet until browned. Drain on paper towels. Chop or crumble, and set aside.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour until smooth and starting to bubble. Gradually whisk in milk while stirring constantly so that no lumps form. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened, about 5 minutes. Season with white pepper, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese until smooth, adding a handful at a time. Set aside.
3. Use 1/3 of the potatoes to make a layer in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with 1/3 of the fennel, 1/3 of the bacon and 1/3 of the basil. Pour about 1/3 of the cheese sauce over everything. Repeat layers two more times or until you run out of room. Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours. Remove the cover during the last 30 minutes to allow the top to brown if desired.

I used generic topical clotrimazole (Lotrimin) cream that is used to cure athletes foot. Now I just moisturize my feet everyday with the same lotion I moisturize the rest of my skin Cetaphil. Worked for me.

Go to the nail spa and get a parafin wax treatment- after the regular pedicure/callous remover etc- it lasts for a long while!
btw Lisa- I don't know if you remember me- but we went on the Washington DC trip as youth in like 1984... before you went to Finland... if this is the right Lisa. ;O)

My friend Heather said: the absolute best remedy is called Body Butter from Bath and Body Works and I have tried everything. It comes in a flat, round tub and is available in all of their signature scents. I had the same problem and now my feet (including heels) are as smooth as a baby's bottom :) I put it on every morning after I shower. Give it a try.

The Chocolate Cheerios were on sale for $2.29 at Smiths. I had a $1.25 off coupon that I received from General Mills when they sent me a box a sample (http://pssst.generalmills.com/)and then I used the rewards coupon from Smiths for .75 off a box of cereal when you spend more than $2.00 on a box.
